End of year 2010 and start of my new blog

First I'd like to introduce myself and why I decided to start a blog (again). My name is Julia and I'm a 22 year old business student from Stockholm in Sweden. After spending the last 4 months in Seoul, South Korea, as an exchange student at Korea University, I decided to start a blog. This way my beloved friends from KU can follow my ordinary life in Stockholm, but of course I'll try to make it a bit more interesting. Seoul and Stockholm do not have many things in common. Seoul is a huge city, one of the largest in the world, and Stockholm is very tiny. Only slightly more than 1 million people lives in Stockholm. The night life is very limited, but shopping is according to me, actually very good. In South Korea, I experienced a very superficial society. You can find make up stores in every corner and people brush their teeth after every meal. Sweden is also superficial, but not that extreme. People do care about their looks, of course, but not as much as in South Korea. In Korea I used some kind of make up every day. Back in Sweden, I don't...

My 2010 was a good year. It began with studies at Stockholm University, I continued at my 1 year master program after my Asia backpacking trip in 2009. I picked the subject Finance and felt a bit lost the whole semester, but I met great new people in the new class. Elin, Martin (Märta), Madde and Jens (Jöns) made my every day life so good. Although we had a lot of work, we had so much fun together...

This year I also decided to become a "buddy" for the exchange students at Stockholm University Business School. I met a lot of fun people and I will never regret my decision to becoming a "buddy". Some of those people has a very special place in my heart.

In the end of August it was time for me to go to Seoul. I was very nervous since I went there "alone". I didn't know anyone before departure, but I was pretty sure that I would meet a lot of new friends anyway. After 15 hours traveling, I landed at Incheon International Airport and I was still pretty nervous... Two months later I felt like I never wanted to return to Sweden. I had met so many nice and cool people and haven't still explored every part (or the parts I wanted to explore) of Seoul. 4 months is too short... The "Family" I spent my nights with made them so much better than they otherwise would have been. I'm so happy that I met especially these people. You really made my Seoul experience wild, fun and crazy.

But, everything has an end. Last week it was time for me to return to Sweden. Seoul, I miss you very much. And even more, I miss you people I met during my semester. I will always remember you and all the fun we had together.

Hugs and kisses
Julia
